It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Redwood City, and there are plenty of events to keep you and your family busy! Enjoy this festive time with lights, music, and other Holiday activities and events around Redwood City and the surrounding areas. Check out some of what our city has to offer in the coming weeks to fill your calendar with holiday cheer.

Hometown Holidays

One of the city’s biggest events is coming up this weekend - the 16th Annual Hometown Holidays! Take part in the all-day event on December 10th that includes drinks, holiday fun, and entertainment. Get your complimentary picture with Santa from 10-3, then browse all the vendor booths and carnival rides. Live entertainment includes band performances, singing, and dancing, or stop by the new petting zoo and tie-dye station for a one-of-a-kind souvenir. Stop to get a drink and bite to eat at the Courthouse, then enjoy the Hometown Holidays Parade Extravaganza from 4:30-5:30.

Breakfast with Santa and Friends

If you’d rather have a sit-down meal, join Santa and his friends on the morning of the 10th for a pancake breakfast hosted by Redwood City Parks & Recreation. Pre-registration is required, with early seating already full, so get ahead of the crowd and reserve your seat for crafts, breakfast, and fun with Santa at the Community Activities Building. Kids 2 and under eat free! Register now for the 11am slot on December 10th to participate. 

Arts and Crafts

There’s no shortage of Holiday craft fairs taking place around the Redwood City area. Stock up on last-minute gifts or decorations for next year at ART on the Square’s Holiday Show, taking place this year at the San Mateo County History Museum. Enjoy holiday music, food, and drinks at the Holiday Craft Show in Fremont, or head over to Randall Museum’s 2022 Holiday Crafts Day. Enjoy everything from ceramics to the fine arts at the wide array of craft fairs and art events around the city.

2022 Halloween Spooktacular Activities in Redwood City CA

It's the spookiest time of the year, and Halloween Spooktacular activities are coming to Redwood City! Red Morton Community Center is hosting this year's activities for children up to the age of 10 with creepy crafts, mazes, and games for the whole family. Redwood City and residents of its surrounding areas are encouraged to come down for the fun in preparation for Halloween.

Pre-Registration Starts Now

Attendees are encouraged to register ahead of time to they won't miss out on all the planned activities. Registration is $10 per child and up to two adults can accompany each child. There are fun and age-appropriate activities for all children aged 1-10 for the event taking place on October 22. The event takes place from 12 PM-3 PM, so be sure to register now to make sure your family can take part in the Halloween fun. Although drop-ins may be available, event organizers note that buying a ticket is the best way to guarantee entry.

Fun and Games

Halloween is in full swing at the Halloween Spooktacular. Get messy with mini pumpkin carving, or test your luck at a variety of Halloween-themed carnival games. If you're the creative type, you can take part in the creepy crafts and take home a souvenir with a Halloween-themed photo backdrop. The Monster Maze will get you in the Halloween spirit - but don't worry, it's not too scary for the little ones!

More Halloween Activities

Teens aren't left out of the festivities with Teen Painting at the Redwood City Public Library. This paint-along on the 15th goes from 2 PM - 3:30 PM with all supplies provided. Can't make it to the Spooktacular or want more Halloween fun? Come back to Red Morton Community Center on the 28th between 6 PM and 9 PM for Thrills and Chills Night! Kids between 5 and 12 are welcome to participate in even more Halloween crafts and games. You're encouraged to come decked out in your Halloween best to participate and enjoy the provided pizza, drinks, and dessert. Teens aren't left out of the festivities with Teen Painting at the Redwood City Public Library. If you want to spend the day with some fuzzy friends, just head down to the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo to trick-or-treat with the zoo animals! Come in costume, sign up for the raffle, and leave with Halloween treats.

Spring is coming up fast, and it feels like winter only just began the other day. Before we get to spring, there’s one holiday that we get to celebrate first, and it’s one of our favorites. Are you looking forward to St. Paddy’s Day? So are all of us at Redwood City INFINITI, and we have a list of Saint Patrick’s Day 2022 Events near Redwood City, CA that you won’t want to miss.

What Day of the Week is Saint Patrick’s Day 2022?

Every holiday works a little differently. Some holidays follow a set pattern, like Thanksgiving which is always on the fourth Thursday in November. Others fall on a set date every year regardless of what day of the week that happens to be. Saint Patrick’s Day falls in that second camp as it is always March 17th. For 2022, that means it falls on a Thursday. Unfortunately not a weekend day this year, but there is still plenty of fun to be had.

Local Bay Area Events for Saint Patrick’s Day

It’s likely not a big surprise, but for many of the larger events in the Bay Area, you are going to have to either go north or South from Redwood City to San Francisco or San Jose. However, we’ve tried to keep our highlights local to the area as much as possible. If you are looking for something bigger, then we encourage you to check out what’s happening in those cities.

  • Green beer being pouredSaint Patrick’s Day Mixology Class—(March 17 at 7 p.m.) Take Saint Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to learn in 2022, and attend a Saint Patrick’s Day-themed mixology class in Palo Alto at City of Cocktail. Pre-registration is required and it’s just $79.
  • Good Shepherd Annual St. Patrick's Dinner—(March 12 at 4 p.m.) This event takes place the weekend before Saint Patrick’s Day so be sure you don’t miss out. The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Belmont puts on the affair for up to 100 people with availability for anyone to purchase a meal for take out.
  • Slime Creation Workshop—(March 12 at 10 a.m.) Saint Patrick’s Day is not always easy to get the kids involved, especially when there’s a shortage of paradise these days. The Hillsdale Shopping center
  • St. Paddy’s Beer Stroll—(March 17 at 6 p.m.) Downton Los Altos is holding its Downtown Beer Stroll. You’re encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time. You will get access to craft beer tasting sites throughout the area. It’s sure to be a blast!
